1. About this policy
This policy explains how Jobara, in Syria, uses cookies and similar technologies on its website, why we use them, and how you can control them. Read it with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we process, share and retain personal data and how to exercise your rights.
Cookies are small pieces of data stored by your browser that may be sent with requests to a website. Local storage holds data in the browser and can remain after you close it until it is removed or replaced. Session storage normally belongs to a particular browser tab and usually ends when that tab closes, although browser session-restoration features can extend its life. These technologies do not, by themselves, upload files from your device or grant access to them.
2. Your choices about optional measurement
Our cookie preferences notice lets you choose necessary storage only or also allow optional analytics. We do not activate the optional engagement measurement described below before recording your consent. Simply browsing the site or accepting our Terms of Service does not count as consent to these analytics.
You can reopen cookie preferences from the website footer and change your choice. Choosing necessary storage only stops this feature from collecting subsequent optional measurement events. That change does not automatically erase information already collected or storage already present in your browser; see the storage controls below and our Privacy Policy.
Your choice is saved in the browser and site domain where you make it. It does not automatically follow you to another device, browser or browser profile, so you may need to choose again in a different browsing environment. This choice is not general permission for advertising tracking across websites. It also does not disable operational records needed to provide the service, such as submitted applications, application-status changes or security records.
3. Sign-in and service security
We use authentication cookies to maintain and verify signed-in sessions and protect sign-in flows. Temporary information may also be used during verification or sign-in through an external service. These functions need to operate even when you decline optional analytics.
A persistent sign-in session cookie normally lasts seven days, and the session may be renewed during use. Some flows may instead use cookies that last for the browser session. Temporary sign-in information has a duration appropriate to the verification flow and purpose. A session may expire or be revoked earlier, for example when you sign out or a security action is taken.
We also use protection against abuse and automated requests, including Cloudflare Turnstile. These services may process browser and connection signals, such as an IP address and browser information, to assess requests. Any additional security cookies depend on the protection settings in use; security checks are separate from the optional analytics choice. Our Privacy Policy explains the wider role of service providers.
4. Language, interface preferences and continuity
The locale cookie remembers your chosen language. It lasts one year and may be renewed when the language preference is updated. Other interface choices, such as appearance, may be stored depending on the feature you use. These preferences are separate from optional engagement measurement.
The local-storage key jobara.cvEditorTour.seen.v1 remembers that you have seen the CV editor introduction so it is not repeatedly displayed. It has no automatic expiry and remains until removed or updated by the feature. The session-storage key jobara:mobile-app-handoff:dismissed remembers that you dismissed the suggestion to open the mobile app during the tab session.
Account updates and notifications may use local-storage keys beginning with jobara:realtime-cursor, jobara:activity- or jobara:private-coordination. These support resuming updates, coordinating your browser tabs and reducing duplicate notifications. Some coordination records have short validity periods, ranging from seconds to about a day depending on their function, and may be removed after use. Update cursors may remain until replaced or cleared. A record becoming too old to use does not necessarily mean that it is immediately removed from browser storage.
5. Remembering your consent choice
We save consent preferences in the jobara-cookie-consent cookie and in a local-storage copy called jobara.cookie-consent. The record includes your analytics choice, the consent-format version and the time your choice was updated, so the site can apply it on a later visit.
We use your recorded analytics choice for up to 365 days from the time you make or update it. Reading the record does not extend that period. The cookie can expire sooner if you clear browser data; a local-storage copy can remain until removed, but an expired record is not permission for analytics. We may ask you to choose again when your record expires, is removed, or no longer covers the measurement we propose. When Google Analytics is introduced, an earlier grant covering only employer statistics does not enable it: we ask for a new choice. An existing refusal remains a refusal while its record is valid.
You can change your choice in cookie preferences. To remove the record completely from your browser, clear both the cookie and the site’s local storage; deleting only one may leave another copy that the site can read again. You may be asked to choose again if the record is removed or the consent format accepted by the site changes.
6. Optional analytics and retention
With your consent, we use limited measurement to understand interaction with job adverts, including advert impressions, opening advert details and starting an application. This supports advert-performance statistics for employers. Processing an actual application and managing it remain part of providing the service, independently of your consent to this optional measurement.
The key jobara.employer-analytics.session.v1 creates a random identifier for the tab session. Keys beginning with jobara.employer-analytics.event.v1 help avoid recording the same event repeatedly for an advert in that session. These records use session storage and normally end when the tab closes, subject to browser session-restoration behaviour.
Measurement events include the advert identifier, interaction type, event identifier, time and session identifier. The session identifier is hashed before it is retained in the server-side measurement record. This feature does not send the contents of your CV or messages as part of these measurement events.
Browser-storage duration differs from server retention. Engagement events are subject to a retention window of up to 400 days and daily aggregate statistics to 730 days; older records are removed through periodic cleanup. Closing a tab or clearing cookies does not automatically delete those server records. Our Privacy Policy provides further information about data handling and related requests.
With your optional analytics consent, we also use Google Analytics, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to understand website usage, referral sources and whether actions such as registration, onboarding, job applications, advert submissions and contact enquiries succeed. The Google measurement tools do not load before this consent. You can use the service with necessary storage only.
Events use standardized page labels, limited action names and approved categories, such as account type and sign-in method. Public job or article identifiers may be included for those interactions. Recognized source and campaign labels can tell us that a visit came from a search engine, social network or AI assistant. We exclude arbitrary URL parameters, search text, form contents, names, email addresses, CV contents and message contents from the events we send. We do not send your Jobara account identifier as Google's User-ID. Google receives the events and browser/connection information needed to deliver and measure them; this is pseudonymous measurement, not a guarantee of anonymous browsing.
Google Analytics can set first-party _ga and _ga_* cookies to distinguish browsers and sessions. Their default lifetime is two years and may be renewed during use; browser restrictions or clearing data can shorten it. This cookie lifetime does not extend your Jobara consent choice. Optional jobara-analytics-auth-intent and jobara-analytics-auth-receipt cookies connect a consented sign-in attempt with its successful outcome. They last at most 15 minutes and 2 minutes respectively and are removed when consumed or cleared. They do not authorize sign-in.
Our current Google Analytics settings retain event-level data for two months and user-level data for fourteen months. New activity resets the user-level retention period. These settings do not impose the same expiry on Google's standard aggregate reports. Google signals, advertising personalization, user-provided-data features and optional granular city/device collection are disabled. Country and region measurement remains available. We do not use this integration to create advertising audiences.
Choose necessary storage only in Cookie preferences to stop subsequent optional measurement. The site clears the Google analytics cookies it can access and its optional authentication-measurement cookies, and disables further Google measurement in the page. This does not undo requests already sent or delete previous server records. You can also clear cookies and site storage in your browser. See our Privacy Policy for questions and data-rights requests.
7. External services
External security and sign-in services may use their own technologies when you use their features or visit their websites. For example, a sign-in provider may use cookies on its own domain to verify your account. Jobara’s cookie preferences do not control or remove cookies on those services’ domains.
Review the privacy notices of services you choose to use for their practices and available controls. Jobara’s Privacy Policy explains sharing with service providers and processing outside your country where relevant. Consent to the analytics described here is not consent to another purpose merely because an external provider helps deliver the service.
8. Inspecting, deleting or blocking storage
Your browser settings let you inspect, delete or block cookies and site data. The steps depend on your browser. To reset this site’s stored data, include local storage and session storage as well as cookies. Private browsing and tab-restoration settings may affect how long the browser keeps data.
Blocking or clearing storage needed for site functions may sign you out, reset your language and preferences, show introductions again or prevent some features from working. Choosing necessary storage only in cookie preferences lets you stop optional measurement while keeping core service functions available.
Clearing browser data is not a request to delete your account, applications or other records held on Jobara’s servers. To exercise rights concerning your personal data, use the routes described in our Privacy Policy. To change analytics consent within Jobara, use cookie preferences; general browser privacy settings may not change that saved choice.
9. Updates and contact
We may update this policy when technologies, purposes or retention periods change. The effective date and version identify the applicable policy. If we introduce a new optional use that requires consent, we will provide the relevant information and choice before activating it; updating the policy text alone does not provide that consent.
If you have questions about cookies or difficulty managing your preferences, contact Jobara through the contact page or support channels available on the website. Identifying the browser and feature involved can help us understand the issue; do not send passwords or verification codes.
